Terms and Conditions of Use

By accessing or using the MILLI platform, including www.millicrowd.com, www.milli.org, mobile applications (MILLI Crowdfunding), or any related services (collectively, the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Platform. MILLI is a peer-to-peer crowdfunding platform that facilitates fundraising.
1. Introduction
By accessing or using the MILLI platform, including www.millicrowd.com, www.milli.org, mobile applications (MILLI Crowdfunding), or any related services (collectively, the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”).
If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Platform.
MILLI is a peer-to-peer crowdfunding platform that facilitates fundraising.
2. Definitions
- “MILLI” means Milli Crowdfunding (Pty) Ltd.
- “Platform” means the MILLI website, mobile applications, and services.
- “Campaign Creator” means any individual creating a fundraising campaign.
- “Donor” means any individual contributing funds.
- “User” means any person accessing or using the Platform, including a Campaign Creator and Donor.
3. Nature of the Service
MILLI provides:
- A digital platform to host fundraising campaigns
- Payment processing infrastructure via an intermediary
- Campaign sharing and promotional tools
MILLI does not:
- Raise funds itself
- Act as trustee, agent, or beneficiary
- Guarantee campaign success or legitimacy
All fundraising occurs directly between Users. MILLI facilitates payment flows and may exercise administrative control over funds pending disbursement.
4. Platform Role & Disclaimer
MILLI acts solely as a technology intermediary.
- We do not verify all campaigns
- We do not control the use of funds or obtain beneficial ownership of the funds
- We are not a party to any transaction
MILLI acts as a limited mandate intermediary facilitating transactions between users. All donations are made at the donor’s own risk.
5. Campaign Model & Platform Fee
5.1 Flat Fee Structure
MILLI charges a flat fee of R1,000 per campaign created. This fee is deducted from funds raised.
5.2 Withdrawal Condition
Campaign Creators may not withdraw funds until the R1,000 platform fee has been covered.
5.3 What the Fee Covers
The fee includes:
- Campaign hosting
- Payment processing
- Platform distribution and promotion across MILLI Social Media once R1,000 has been raised
- Campaign tools (links, QR codes, sharing features)
5.4 Key Principle
The fee is:
- Not paid upfront
- Funded through donor contributions
- Non-refundable once earned
- Donations are processed via an intermediary and may be temporarily held before disbursement. MILLI does not obtain beneficial ownership of such funds.
6. Donations
- Donations are voluntary contributions
- Donors receive no financial return
- Donations are made to Campaign Creators via the Platform
7. Payouts
- Funds are released only after the R1,000 fee threshold is met
- Payouts may be subject to verification and fraud checks
- MILLI may delay payouts where necessary for compliance or risk management
8. Refunds
Donations are, subject to applicable laws:
- Irrevocable
- Non-refundable
Refunds may only be considered in cases of:
- Proven fraud
- Technical errors
All refunds are at MILLI’s sole discretion.
9. User Accounts
Users must:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain the security of their account
- Be at least 18 years old
Users are responsible for all activity under their account.
10. Campaign Creator Responsibilities
Campaign Creators warrant that:
- All information is true and not misleading
- Funds will be used for the stated purpose
- They have the legal right to raise funds
Campaign Creators may not:
- Misrepresent their needs
- Use funds for unlawful purposes
- Create campaigns involving:
- Investments
- Financial returns
- Gambling or sweepstakes
11. Donor Responsibilities
Donors acknowledge that:
- Donations are made voluntarily
- MILLI does not guarantee campaign legitimacy
- They are responsible for assessing campaigns before donating
- They are responsible for the transactional costs of the donation
12. Prohibited Use
Users may not:
- Commit fraud or misrepresentation
- Promote illegal activities
- Offer financial returns or investment opportunities
- Use the Platform for money laundering
- Upload harmful, abusive, or misleading content
13. Identity Verification (KYC) & Fraud Prevention
13.1 Verification Rights
MILLI may, but is not obligated to, conduct identity verification, including:
- ID or passport checks
- Contact verification
- Bank account verification
- Supporting documentation review
13.2 Conditional Access
MILLI may:
- Restrict, suspend and/or terminate User accounts
- Delay or withhold payouts
Until any reasonable verification, breach and/or risk requirements are satisfied.
13.3 Fraud Monitoring
MILLI uses systems to detect:
- Suspicious activity
- Fake or duplicate accounts
- Misrepresentation
13.4 Platform Protection Rights
MILLI may:
- Suspend campaigns
- Freeze funds
- Terminate accounts
Where fraud, breach or risk is suspected.
13.5 Reporting
MILLI may:
- Share data with payment providers
- Report suspicious activity to authorities
13.6 No Guarantee
Verification does not guarantee legitimacy of Users and/or campaigns.
13.7 Indemnity
All Users hereby indemnify MILLI against any and all claims arising from the use of the Platform.
14. Intellectual Property
All Platform content belongs to MILLI or its licensors.
Users grant MILLI a non-exclusive license to use campaign content for:
- Platform operation
- Marketing and promotion
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
MILLI is not liable for any claims, including:
- Loss of funds
- Misuse of donations
- Campaign failure
- Indirect or consequential damages
Use of the Platform is at the User’s own risk.
16. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify MILLI against all claims, including:
- Claims arising from your use of the Platform
- Breach of these Terms
- Misrepresentation or unlawful conduct
17. Disputes Between Users
Disputes between Users are:
- Private matters
- Not the responsibility of MILLI
MILLI may assist but has no obligation to intervene.
18. Termination
MILLI may suspend or terminate accounts if:
- These Terms are breached
- Fraud or risk is suspected
Users may stop using the Platform at any time.
19. Data & Privacy
MILLI processes personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act.
By using the Platform, you consent to:
- Data collection
- Identity verification
- Processing for operational and compliance purposes
20. Force Majeure
MILLI is not liable for failure due to:
- Power outages
- Network failures
- Government actions
- Natural disasters
21. Changes to Terms
MILLI may update these Terms at any time.
Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
22. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
